Bedtime Stories

Papa was able to read to an attentive Anjali tonight after she had been bathed and fed. Book choice: The Napping House. (Thank you, Abigail H.) The first photo captures the bedtime atmosphere with the glow from our Himalayan salt lamps.

Such a serious face in the second photo. I would have thought that The Napping House was a love story, not historical fiction.

I think she is trying to process what I "book" is. This is the first time she has paid any attention. Usually, we never get this far.

this is awesome! i started reading a book to uma sometimes when she's on the potty. she already knew to watch the pages turn from when we would show her no word picture books lying on her back. it is so cute and a good feeling to already have shared a real reading experience together. then a couple of weeks ago she watched the book and me turning pages as i read winnie the pooh. she's never done that because there are just tiny sketches and a bunch of words. anyway, my point is, this is exciting. can't wait to have storytime with our little girls. my coworker gave me a journal after uma's birth. we are going to write stories in there for storytelling time. this is an exciting journey we are on...
